May 20 – Day of Pentecost
“The 50th day” after the first day of Passover was an agricultural event focused on the harvest. In the New Testament, it refers to the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4) after Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension. The Pentecost event was the fulfillment of a promise Jesus gave his disciples. We celebrate 50 days after Easter and often wear RED to remember the Holy Spirit appearing as tongues of fire.
Sunday, May 20th is our next date to clean up portion of West 32nd Avenue. Look for us in the snazzy orange safety vests as we fill our trash bags!

EPISCOPAL RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT DONATIONS
Hearing God’s call to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being, Episcopal Relief & Development serves to bring together the generosity of Episcopalians and others with the needs of the world. In 2016, Episcopal Relief & Development spent 84% on programs versus 9% on fundraising and 7% on administration. Because ERD receives support from the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society in addition to income from investments, at least 90% of every donor dollar goes directly to programs.
