Advent Soup Supper & Study

6:00 to 8:00pm — Wednesdays Dec. 6, 13 & 20. How can we hold on to the deeper spiritual significance of Advent and Christmas during this busy time? One answer might be Advent itself, a time for quiet reflection and contemplation. We will gather at 6:10 for worship, followed by a soup supper and our study together. Our theme is “Keeping Holy with the Holly.” All are welcome and invited!

Christmas Food Boxes

As is the tradition at SJC, we will fill 100 boxes each with $25 worth of groceries – complete fixings for a holiday meal! You may contribute by cash, check or PayPal. Please mark your check with “Food Boxes”, or if you give cash, put it in an envelope and designated it as “Food Boxes.”  This is a wonderful way to share the opportunity for giving with your family and friends, near and far!

Prayer of Thanks

Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe. For you create the fruit of the vine and bring forth bread from the earth; and on this day we remember that you have given us the bread of life in the Body of your Son Jesus Christ, and refreshed us with the cup of salvation. As grain scattered upon the earth is gathered into one loaf, so gather your Church in every place into the kingdom of your Son. To you be glory and power for ever and ever.  Amen.

EPISCOPAL RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT DONATIONS

Until Dec. 31, your donation to Episcopal Relief & Development will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $760,000, our largest match ever! In 2016, Episcopal Relief & Development spent 84% on programs versus 9% on fundraising and 7% on administration. Because ERD receives support from the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society in addition to income from investments, at least 90% of every donor dollar goes directly to programs.
